Donate to make a difference

Please press the button above to go to our JustGiving page where you can make an online donation.

Our children depend on charitable donations to secure their future. The charity needs around £200,000 a year to maintain the Children’s Centre and ensure that all our children receive appropriate accommodation, food, education, medical and welfare support.

You can support our children with regular payments of as little as £5 a month for which you will receive a Newsletter keeping you up to date with what is going on at the Centre.

If you can spare £100 a month, you will receive the Newsletter and regular updates from one of our children.  Please email our Fundraising Coordinator, Ben Morgan at fundraising@restartafrica.org to arrange this.

If you are looking to donate items, such as clothes, sports kit, stationery etc, then please email admin@restartafrica.org for more information.

Our Focus

Primary Education

Recently, our main focus has been the education of the children we support in Gilgil. Over the course of the COVID-19 Pandemic, our children were being schooled within the Restart Centre. We noticed that their academic skills were lacking in key areas due to the schooling they were receiving prior to the pandemic. We believed that this had to be turned around, especially for our younger children.  That is why we decided to move all 46 of our primary school children to a non-government school in the Gilgil area.  After just the first term we have noticed a substantial difference across the board, not least in the childrens’ ability to speak English which is so important to future job prospects.

It costs around £300 a year to fund the primary education for one child. If you can donate this amount, you can help make a tangible difference to our young people and give them the tools they need to take charge of their own lives.

Into Work

We have an increasing number of children now leaving school for university, vocational training and work.  We have established a special line of fundraising at Restart in order to help us with the fees and job placements that allow our children to finally leave the Centre and make their own way in the world.  This fund is named after Charlotte Hope, one of our brilliant British volunteers, who died in an accident in the UK.

By donating to this fund, you can help our children get the future they want by aiding in funding their university careers, apprenticeships, job applications and even things as small as finding them an interview suit.

Here are some examples of the destinations our young people have gone to:

  • Food and Beverage Course at the Rift Valley College

  • Electrical Engineering at the Kenya Industrial Training Institute

  • Automative Engineering at the Nakuru Institute for Business Studies
